Donate Furniture

Thank you for considering hearts+homes as you seek to rehome your gently used furniture, kitchenware, home goods, artwork, and decor. We’re always grateful for the generosity of the community.

How Does This Work?

We get asked that a lot, so we try to make the donation process as simple as possible.

First, check out our Donation Guidelines for items we can consider receiving. The list isn’t exhaustive, but it'll provide a good indication of what’s helpful to the families we serve.

Next, email us photos of the items you’d like to donate. For furniture, please include dimensions.

We’ll respond to your email within 48 hours. That time includes a review of our inventory system to confirm if we are in need of the item, and a review of our onsite storage to confirm there’s space to receive it. Size, scale, quality, condition, the time frame in which you are working, and your location all play into our ability to say “Yes.”

If everything aligns, for larger pieces like sofas and dressers, we’ll schedule an appointment for a driveway or curbside pick-up. Our lead time is usually 10 business days, but that can vary. For smaller items like dishware, lamps, and end tables, we’ll schedule an appointment for a drop off at our workshop. Drop-off lead time is usually 4–5 business days.

Please don’t be offended...

We absolutely adore you for your interest in sharing your belongings with the families we serve. We wouldn't exist without the kindness and generosity of folks like you. Sometimes we have to politely pass on even the most beautiful items, and we don’t want you to feel slighted or offended in any way.

When we have to say, “No, thank you,” it’s due to the timing of the offer or the amount of storage space we have available. Sometimes the piece may need more love than we’re able to give it. (We refinish about 70% of what we receive, but managing that effort requires us to pass on some opportunities.)

We limit our pick-up radius to within 30 minutes of our location, so some offers are a little too far for us to go.

Our commitment to you... If we’re unable to receive your item, we’ll do our very best to suggest other local options. In some cases, we’ll even reach out on your behalf to our partners who also serve families in need. Just ask.
